The leading global online social networks announced their Russian versions Facebook and MySpace this week.

According to Fox Interactive Russia’s CEO, Alexander Turkot, MySpace is expected to reach 1 million users in Russia by the end of 2008, up from 0.3 million users now.

The leading Russian social networking sites Vkontankte (a Facebook copycat) and Odnoklassniki.ru have over 12 million and 18 million registered accounts, respectively, as well as over 6 million daily users each.

The question is if mainstream Russian audience will really care about either Facebook or MySpace.
MySpace is expected to generate $5 million revenues this year, while Odnoklassniki.ru target revenues of $30 million in 2008.
