Wunderman, the global relationship marketing network and part of WPP, acquired a majority stake in Actis, a full-service digital agency in Russia. Actis said on its corporate site that Wunderman‘s expertise in the areas of BTL and CRM, plus, its knowledge of interactivity, analytics and measurement will be combined with Actis‘ 10-years of experience in digital development in Russia and the CIS.
Wunderman will wed its existing operations in Russia with Actis Systems under the leadership of Edward Grinbukh (CEO, Actis), Anya Sverdlov (Managing Director, Actis) and under the guidance of Yuri Pashin (Chairman & CEO, Young & Rubicam Brands, Russia & CIS).
Actis, which was founded in 1997 and now employs 120 staff, provides digital (web) strategy, design, development and content management for clients in Russia and the CIS. Actis generated revenus of $5 million in 2007. The company completed more than 700 commercial internet projects. Its clients included Canon, Microsoft, MTV and VimpelCom.
In June 2008, Aegis acquired Russian interactive agency AdWatch.
