Last December, the Russian media group Prof-Media reportedly sold out its business publisher B2B Media to an undisclosed investor. E-xecutive.ru, a social network and online portal for business professionals that is owned by B2B Media, is now being acquired by a group of private investors for about $1 million, reported business daily newspaper Kommersant.
Founded in 2001, E-xecutive.ru was the first online community for managers and business professionals in Russia. The site, which was re-launched with new designs in early 2008, reported almost 200,000 registered users and more than 400,000 unique monthly users last fall. Its 2008 revenues and EBITDA were estimated at $2 million and $0.7 million, respectively.
Back in summer 2006, B2B Media acquired E-xecutive.ru for an estimated $3 million from headhunting firm Ward Howell International.
