It looks like major Russian online services are well armed to sustain economic recession. The leading Russian social network, Odnoklassniki.ru is now generating a half of its revenues from subscription-based services, announced Nikita Sherman, CEO of Odnoklassniki.ru at the Russia Forum 2009.
Founded in 1998, Subscribe.ru operator St. Petersburg-based Internet Projects is the largest permission-based email marketing service in Russia. Subscribe.ru has more than 5 million subscribers.
Subscribe.ru has announced Subscribe.Direct, a Pay-Per-Click context-based ad service in its emails. Advertisers can do geographical and demographical ad targeting as well as select keywords and topics for their ads.
Internet Projects is partly owned by leading Russian internet investor Digital Sky Technologies (DST), which bought-out a significant minority stake in the company from venture capital funds in February 2007.
