 The leading Russian search engine Yandex, which holds more than 70 percent of the Russian contextual advertising market, has announced that it launched a Q&A service, Yandex.Answers (Яндекс.Ответы). The service has indexed 4.5 million questions and 14.4 million answers from various forums and blogs. When a user posts a question, Yandex scans its index for a relevant andwer. The Yandex registered users can also answer the question as experts and increase their individual ratings.
In 2000 – 2007, Yandex run a popular forum on its site that was called “Where to find?“.
Mail.ru and Google have their own Q&A services in Russia: Answers@Mail.ru and Google Answers.
