Veeam Software and Aelita Software founders’ Andrei Baronov and Ratmir Timashev (ABRT) have been named top 30 persons in Russian internet business by Forbes Russia.
Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Phystech) graduates Andrei Baronov and Ratmir Timashev founded vendor of MS Windows Server management solutions’ Aelita Software that was purchased by Quest Software for $115 million in 2004. Andrey and Ratmir set up ABRT Fund to make early-stage investments in Russian software and internet startups.
ABRT invested in backup software vendor Acronis, enterprise applications tools vendor InvisibleCRM, social game developer Drimmi, visual search engine technology company Quintura, online shopping club KupiVIP, and others.
In 2006, Andrei Baronov and Ratmir Timashev founded Veeam Software that develops software for VMware data protection, disaster recovery and VMware management solutions for virtual datacenter environments.
