You can now find images visually at www.Quintura.ru. We have added a visual search of images to the Quintura online service in Russia. The Quintura user interface was also refined. You can save and share your search cloud and results.

Quintura launches service in Russia

We have launched the Quintura visual search service at www.quintura.ru. The launch is covered by major Internet media in Russia: Internet.ru and Webplanet.

As mentioned by most of our users, Quintura brings a different approach to today’s web search by delivering a visual search experience.

For searching:

1) Type in an intial word in English and click Enter.
You will see a visual map or “tag cloud” of related words and phrases in addition to a traditional list of search results. The size of a word on the map indicates the degree of relationship to the initial search word.

2) To refine a search simply hover over or click the word on the map to add it to the initial search word. The search results will dynamically change to match the new search phrase.

3) You can also narrow down a search by removing the word with a mouse click.

Eurovision: Lordi vs Dima

While watching the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 last night, the fnal results came to me as a surprise. Dima Bilan of Russia with his song Never Let You Go took the second place. Dima delivered a stunning performance that was featured by the Russian ballet dancers. He should had won the contest but the Finish rockers Lordi rocketed to the first place.

However, it’s a huge success for Dima who made a big step to be a European pop star. Here is a tip: enter Dima Bilan in the query field at http://search.quintura.ru to get a snapshot of related words and then digg for more.

Searching for Da Vinci Code

Quintura Search can be a very useful tool to explore any topic related to one of the biggest movies of this year: The Da Vinci Code that opened in cinemas this week. We are announcing our visual search service at http://search.quintura.ru. You can type in a query in both Russian and English but the search results will be returned from RuNet (or the Russian segment of Internet). The service asks for a registration that only takes a moment. Give it a try!

Italian Weekend at Quintura

Since recent release of a new version, Quintura Search has entered new geographical markets becoming very popular in Italy (Punto Informatico) and Norway (digi.no). Should we call it an Italian weekend at our web-site? And was yesterday a Norwegian day then?! Quintura is now both a cool visual search interface for searching via any search engine (you have more than 20 ones to choose from) and easy tool for creating a search scope. Here comes a viral marketing! Why don’t you create a scope for Italian cuisine or sports cars and then email it to your friends? So they could share your findings on the Web.

What else’s new? Quintura Search now features contextual ads that dynamically change together with a set of search results when you change a search query pointing to a new word on the visual map! Quintura online search is being extensively tested by our development team and scheduled for a public launch in early April.
