Digital Sky Technologies (DST), an Internet investment group run by Yuri Milner, has obtained a 50.6% majority stake in Mail.ru by acquiring an additional 15% stake in the company from Tiger Global Management, reported Vedomosti. The leading Russian search engine Yandex was ranked 3rd in Europe ahead of both Yahoo! Sites and Microsoft Sites with 528 million or 2.2 percent of European searches in March 2008, according to a study of European search rankings from comScore.

In February 2008, 47.4% of all searches in Russia were conducted on Yandex, followed by Google (31.2%), Rambler (9.7%), Mail.ru (7%), Yahoo! (1.3%), AOL (1.1%), and Microsoft (0.6%), says a new study of Russian Internet usage from comScore.
