The leading Russian search engine Yandex has agreed to acquire online map provider GIS Technologies (ГИС Технологии) for several million dollar, reported newspaper Vedomosti. GIS Technologies supplies online city maps for Yandex.Maps (Яндекс.Карты) since 2008. Previously, GIS Technologies supplied Megapolis maps for satelite navigation devices JJ-Connect. Russia’s leading online portal company, Mail.ru has reported total revenues of US$ 126.4 million in 2009, up 67% from 2008, according to International Accounting Standards, the company reported.
