The largest Russian social networking site Odnoklassniki.ru reported revenue of $3.3 million in Q1 2008, including $3 million from display (banner) advertising and $0.3 million from contextual advertising. It’s announced that AOL acquired Sphere, which started as a blog search engine and then moved into providing related content links for web publishers. Prior to the acquisition, AOL partnered with Sphere to offer its widget technology on AOL News and the myAOL service.

OLX, a free classifieds site operating in 40 countries in 15 languages, including in Russian, raised $13.5 million, bringing total funding to $23.5 million, says OLX founder and CEO Fabrice Grinda on his blog Musings of an Entrepreneur.
