Having revealed its first billion index pages outside of the ru domain, the largest Russian search engine has globally but also launched its first vertical search , a search in car classifieds.
 Yandex.Auto indexes over half a million listings of used cars on some 30 web-sites for car fans on the Russian Internet. The index is updated several times per day. It is possible to refine search by car style, gearbox type, color, etc. Here are the search results for ““.
Yuriy Vorontsov, the project manager of Yandex.Auto first revealed his project for vertical search of used cars last fall, only several months after his graduation from the university. He was then quickly offered a job at Yandex to implement the project utilizing the Yandex resources.
Shall we say that Yandex “acq-hired” this car search venture?
